Hi there! If you’re here, chances are you’re a horse lover with a lot of questions and a dash of “what did I get myself into?”
Welcome—my name is Meg and I’ve been there!
It all started over 20 years ago when I, a total beginner, fell in love with a 2.5-year-old TW - Billy. Yep, I dove straight into the deep end. It was like adopting a toddler who also happened to weigh 1,000 pounds and had never heard the word “manners.” Desperate to figure out how to survive—and maybe even thrive—I spent hours researching training programs. Spoiler alert: most of them were written in a language that might as well have been ancient Greek. Frustrated and slightly bruised (thanks to a few close encounters with hooves and teeth ), I vowed to make learning about horses easier for others.
Fast forward to six years ago, when I rescued my current horse—Bigzunio—Spotted Saddle Horse a charming ball of chaos , fearful of everything and not interested in having anything to do with humans. From rearing to refusing, he’s been a masterclass in patience, persistence, and creative problem-solving.
Together, we’ve tackled challenges I never thought I’d face (including, but not limited to, being fully sedated for a trim).
Along the way, we worked through it and Bigzunio is my best friend now.
That’s when it hit me: what if I could simplify all this into an easy-to-follow process for beginners horse lovers, who just want to enjoy their horses without feeling like they need a PhD in equine psychology? So, I compiled a treasure trove of the most useful, beginner-friendly techniques and turned it into a step-by-step system to help horse owners everywhere avoid the endless Google rabbit holes I endured.
Here’s the thing: horses are hilarious, humbling, and sometimes downright frustrating.
But they’re also incredible teachers—especially when you rescue one with all the quirks.
Whether you’re a brand-new horse owner or just need some practical tips, you’re in the right place.
Let’s figure this out together (hopefully with fewer bruises).
